LALAL.AI Supports 2 New Stems: Wind & String Instruments
Since the release of Phoenix, the revolutionary stem splitting technology, we have been gradually improving it. In early 2022 Phoenix supported only vocal and instrumental isolation, while individual musical instrument stems were extracted by Cassiopeia, our neural network of the preceding generation.
Between April and October of this year we were able to train Phoenix to extract all the stems of musical instruments that Cassiopeia supported: drums, bass, acoustic and electric guitars, piano and synthesizer. As a result, LALAL.AI started to offer absolutely unrivaled splitting quality of 8 stems in total which no other solution on the market provides.
But LALAL.AI wouldn't be LALAL.AI without constantly raising the bar. As soon as we break a record, we strive to conquer new heights and supply our dear users with something special🙌❤️
This time we present two completely new and unique stems that neither us nor other services ever had before – the Wind Instruments and the String Instruments stems.
With this expansion, LALAL.AI becomes the world's first splitter capable of extracting 10 stems!🏆
🎺The Wind Instruments Stem
Many of the most prominent genres in history, like jazz and orchestral music, would not exist without wind instruments. The greatest artists and composers, from Bach and Mozart to Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, depended extensively on the usage of wind instruments in their music.
Although there is a great variety of wind instruments, LALAL.AI’s neural network is capable of detecting and extracting the sound of the majority of them. It goes for both of the wind instruments families, brass instruments (trumpets, trombones, horns, tubas) and woodwind instruments (flutes, clarinets, saxophones, recorders).
Whether you want to practice playing one of wind instruments or want to use their sound for your creative project, you can now do it easily with LALAL.AI.
Here is how to isolate or remove wind instruments from a song or video:
- Open LALAL.AI.
- Click the Vocal and Instrumental button. This is going to open the list of all stems.
- Select the Wind Instruments option.
- Click the Select File button or just drag and drop your file.
- Wait a few seconds until the file is processed. After that you will see 2 stem previews, the first one containing only the sounds of the wind instruments, the second with the rest of the music.
- Click the Process the Entire File button.
- Download the stems. They are going to be available in the same quality and format as the original file – MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, AVI, MP4, MKV, AIFF, or AAC.
🎻The String Instruments Stem
String instruments, such as violin, viola, cello and double bass, have held a special place in music for a long time. These instruments of great beauty and versatility are not only the backbone of the symphony orchestra, they are also widely used in chamber music and as solo instruments.
You can now extract the sound of string instruments as well as remove it from any audio/video track for your mix or song cover with the help of LALAL.AI. The process is the same for this stem as for all other instruments, but let’s go over the steps just in case.
Here is how to isolate or remove string instruments from any file:
- Open LALAL.AI.
- Click the Vocal and Instrumental button to open the list of stems.
- Select the Strings option.
- Click the Select File button or just drag and drop your file.
- Wait a few seconds until the file is processed. After that you will see 2 stem previews, the first one containing only the sound of string instruments, the second with the rest of the music.
- Click the Process the Entire File button.
- Download the stems. They are going to be saved in the same quality and format as your original file.
As you can see, the process of stem splitting on the user's end remains easy as pie, while our neural network becomes more and more versatile and complex.
We’ve got a lot more on the LALAL.AI roadmap for the near future, so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming improvements and new features. You’re going to love them!
